Yellow Fever Vaccination
We are a fully accredited Yellow Fever vaccination centre. If you are travelling to a Yellow Fever–risk area or a country that requires proof of vaccination, we can assist.
The Yellow Fever vaccine is a live vaccine and may not be suitable for everyone. We will take the time to assess your personal risk and provide guidance about exemptions if required.
After vaccination, you will receive an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), which is valid for life under international health regulations.
Please note: Yellow Fever vaccine is only available by appointment, and must be given at least 10 days before your intended travel date.

Yellow fever is a viral infection caused by the bite of an infected mosquito. The virus is prevalent in certain parts of Africa and South America.
Symptoms of yellow fever can range from mild, such as fever and headache, to severe, including jaundice (yellow skin/eyes), bleeding, and organ failure.
Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent yellow fever, especially for travelers visiting at-risk areas.

Yellow fever vaccination, as with most vaccines, may lead to certain side-effects. The typical reactions involve experiencing soreness, redness, or swelling at the injection spot. Occasionally, individuals might also encounter mild fever, body aches, or fatigue shortly after the vaccination. While uncommon, there are more serious side-effects like allergic reactions or neurological complications that may manifest. It is crucial to communicate any worries with a healthcare professional prior to vaccination and promptly seek medical assistance if any unexpected symptoms arise following the vaccination.
-
Certain groups are advised against taking the vaccine due to potential health risks. This includes individuals who are immunocompromised, such as those undergoing chemotherapy or certain individuals with HIV. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are also typically not recommended to receive the Yellow Fever vaccine, as well as infants under the age of 9 months. Additionally, individuals with a history of severe allergic reactions to any component of the vaccine are advised against getting vaccinated.
If any of these apply to you speak with us for advice regarding alternatives.

The International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) is a crucial document for travellers to countries with Yellow Fever transmission. This certificate serves as proof of vaccination and is recognised around the world. Many countries require this certificate as part of their entry requirements to prevent the spread of Yellow Fever.
Having this document not only facilitates smooth entry at customs but also helps protect both the traveller and the local population from potentially dangerous diseases. As we are an accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre we can provide and complete your ICVP to internationally recognised standards.
-
In most cases only one dose of Yellow Fever vaccine is required - this gives lifelong protection for future trips. There are some situations where repeat vaccination is required at least 10 years after the initial dose, but this is uncommon.
