Your Visit

Our aim at Hills Travel Clinic is to streamline your pre-travel consultation

Preparing for your appointment:

Book well ahead — ideally 6 to 8 weeks before departure

Bring your itinerary or details of countries you’ll be visiting

Bring your vaccination history or immunisation record (if available)

Let us know if you have any chronic health conditions or take regular medications

You’ll be seen by a general practitioner experienced in travel medicine. After your consult, we can usually administer any required vaccines on the same day.

Hills Travel Clinic is located within our GP practice in Littlehampton. Appointments are privately billed and Medicare rebates apply to Medicare card holders. Your private health insurance may cover the cost of some vaccinations.

You will be sent a link to a pre-appointment questionnaire that you should complete at least 24 hours before your appointment.

Fees may apply if you do not give us sufficient notice regarding appointment cancellations

Appointment FAQs

  • As each family member will require an individual travel and risk assessment, an appointment is needed for all travellers (including children). This is also good medical practice and meets Medicare requirements.

Please ring to speak to reception if you travelling with family/children and we will advise you regarding costs and booking. Children under 16 travelling with adult family members will be charged the medicare rate.

  • Travel vaccinations are generally not covered by Medicare or the PBS. If you have private health insurance you may be able to claim back a portion of the cost of vaccinations from your health fund.

Vaccination costs must be paid in full on the day of your vaccination - prices can fluctuate but depending on the vaccine can range between $35 and $155 per dose. A full price list is available from reception or your doctor.

We understand that travel vaccines may seem expensive, but they should be viewed as an investment in your health. Most travel vaccinations (with some exceptions) will provide protection during future trips, and some will provide lifelong protection.

  • Ideally at least 6 weeks before your trip - however if you have a last-minute trip planned you should still come and see us to discuss because many vaccinations can be given at short notice.
